Welcome Alicia Lamonda, NP
You guys...this is crazy. We hired a nurse practitioner to join Ascent! Not only did we hire a nurse practitioner but we hired THE nurse practitioner. Welcome Alicia!
Alicia just finished her first week with us. She’s getting her feet wet and learning our systems before she starts seeing patients of her own in late August. Alicia is the kindest soul and we feel she is such a great addition to our practice. She brings tons of women's health experience and will be providing all of the same care you've grown to expect and love from Ascent plus more.
Alicia is currently welcoming new patients for:
• Primary care
• General gynecologic and reproductive healthcare
• Annual wellness visits and physical exams
• Perimenopause, menopause, and hormone therapy
• Birth control counseling (including care for adolescents!)
• STI testing and sexual wellness concerns
• Gender-affirming care
• Weight and metabolic health support
• Management of common acute and chronic conditions
• And more
Know someone looking for a provider?
Current patients are warmly invited to refer friends, family members, coworkers, and others who may be looking for thoughtful, relationship-centered healthcare.
Alicia is accepting new patients, and referrals do not require any special paperwork. They can simply visit our website to learn more and request an appointment using the link below.

Next up, for my day-one patients, you’ll know that we have been toying around with the best flow for scheduling and communication.
Well, here is what I hope is our last update on how to get that done.

How to get ahold of us when you need something:
We've heard you all, it's been confusing...
To make communication easier, we are consolidating clinical messages in one place.
Use the Elation Passport Patient Portal for:
• Clinical questions or concerns
• Medication refill requests
• Questions about side effects
• Follow-up questions after a visit
• To view your after visit summary
• Updates for your provider
• Requests related to laboratory or imaging results
We will be moving away from using Spruce messaging for routine or urgent clinical questions because we've heard that it's all difficult to keep track of everything across multiple platforms.
Portal messages are not monitored continuously and should not be used for emergencies.
You can expect a response for urgent concerns within 24 hours and non urgent concerns in 48 hours. For severe symptoms or a potentially life-threatening concern, call 911 or seek emergency care.
Call or text the office for:
• Scheduling or rescheduling
• Appointment cancellations
• Billing questions
• Payment questions
• Administrative forms
• Problems accessing the portal
• Help requesting an appointment
This change gives patients one consistent place for clinical communication and reduces the chance that important messages end up scattered across multiple platforms.
Telemedicine: Video Visit
We will continue using Spruce Health for telemedicine video appointments.
When you have a telemedicine appointment and prefer video:
Download the Spruce Health app before your appointment.
Make sure you are logged into your Spruce account.
Open the app and be ready at your scheduled appointment time.
When you are logged in and waiting within Spruce, your provider can initiate the video visit.
If you are not available through the app at the time of your appointment, your provider will call the telephone number listed in your chart instead.

Neurotoxin aka "botox"
Remember how I told you in the last newsletter that if this isn’t your thing, keep moving? Well, go ahead and do that again if that’s the case. It’s totally fine!
If you’re like, hell yes, Alison, then keep reading.
I’ve completed my training with my amazing mentor, Liz Rosetti at Four Sisters Aesthetics, and I’m ready to start seeing you all and any of your friends and family too!
I am now offering select Saturday neurotoxin appointments right at Ascent.
This is open to current Ascent patients and the general public, so feel free to share this information!
Ascent members receive preferred benefits and discounted pricing as part of their membership.
Appointments may include treatment for areas such as:
• Frown lines, aka “the elevens”
• Crow’s feet
• Lip flip
• Bunny lines
• Chin dimpling
• Downturned corners of the mouth
• Other individualized treatment areas
Every appointment begins with an assessment and conversation about your goals. Treatment recommendations are personalized rather than based on a one-size-fits-every-face package, because faces are generally attached to individual humans.

Reduced GLP-1 Pricing for Monthly Members
We did something that you never see happen: we REDUCED our prices for in-house GLP-1 medications dispensed through a 503B pharmacy.
We have reduced GLP-1 pricing for Ascent members as part of our continued effort to provide meaningful value through the membership program.
Current pricing is available on our website and varies based on the medication and prescribed dose.
Medication costs are separate from medical visits and are subject to change as pharmacy and manufacturer pricing evolves.
The InBody Body-Composition Scanner is Up and Running!
Our InBody body-composition analyzer is officially available!
Unlike a traditional scale, InBody provides a more complete picture of body composition, including:
• Skeletal muscle mass
• Body-fat mass
• Body-fat percentage
• Visceral fat estimate
• Changes in muscle and fat over time
The companion InBody app is also an excellent tool for developing goals and tracking progress.
In the app, after your scan, you can enter a specific goal, such as gaining a certain number of pounds of muscle mass and/or losing a certain number of pounds of fat mass.
The app can then generate calorie and macronutrient recommendations based on your basal metabolic rate and the exercise information you enter, helping guide you toward that goal.
This can be especially helpful for patients working on weight management, strength, healthy aging, metabolic health, or GLP-1 treatment. It allows us to look beyond the number on the scale and make sure weight loss is not quietly taking valuable muscle along with it.
InBody pricing
Ascent monthly members: One complimentary scan each year, then $35 for additional scans
Established pay-per-visit patients: $60
Community members and non-patients: $95
To get your InBody, follow the link above to schedule an appointment and you'll choose "InBody."
It's a 10-minute test and will be completed by the Ascent staff and discussed with your provider at your next appointment!
